The Marketing Maze - Where Do You Start?

There are many parts to a marketing campaign. The key elements are knowing your product, knowing who your public is and knowing your competition.

Each product or service has it's own marketing needs. For example, with a software product you can set up an internet marketing campaign and your customer can download your product right from the internet.

What if you have a dentist office or stationary store?

The marketing techniques would be applied differently. For example, say you have a dentist office. You have a website that offers helpful tips on dental. At first this may seem silly since you can't expect someone from New York to come to you in California.

However, you can use the internet in this instance to add to your existing marketing efforts. You would promote this to all your customers. Let them know you just set up a special "Remedies" section on your website that they can access 24 hours a day. You can even have them request dental appointments and so forth.

This can all be done off normal business hours. It is a matter of convenience for your customers.

You could then do a market analysis of your customers and determine what type of people you should be promoting to.

You could do a local TV campaign that advertises your website and an 800 number. The point is that you can apply many marketing techniques that can really supercharge your sales.
