What if you have a business that is not so internet friendly? In other words you need live bodies to come into your place of business in order to serve your customers.

This slang "Brick and Mortar" is used to describe a business with a physical location.

This is where the internet can really enhance your business. Just because your market is local does not mean you cannot use the internet effectively. Many people just don't know how this can work.

The following examples provide a sample of how this can work for a "Brick and Mortar" operation:

1. You can use a website to promote your restaurant. The site can have your menu, special articles about your food and also helpful eating and diet tips and even a map of where you are.

Most restaurants advertise in yellow pages and newspapers. The advantage of a website is that people can get at it 24 hours a day. You can promote your website in all other promotions.

2. If you have a dental practice there are many ways to increase customer traffic. You can offer special teeth cleaning tips and how to avoid ... advice. Clients could even ask for an appointment online.

All you need to do is be a little creative, know your customers well, and provide them with useful information.

3. Maybe you have a local Electronics store. Again you can offer specials, promote them offline, inviting people to your web site and so on. In this case you could sell product directly on your site.

No matter what the business is, there are numerous creative ways to use the internet to provide more convenience for your customers. This is one of the main reasons people use the internet today - convenience!
